Welcome to ICC 2022+1

Dear Colleagues

On behalf of the Cellulose Society, I would like to extend a warm welcome to all cellulose scientists and engineers to the signature event of 2023, the International Cellulose Conference 2022+1, September 26-28, in Hiroshima, Japan, a historic and vibrant city, where I spent my school years.

Although global warming and sustainable energy issues are not easy problems to solve, we should recognize that we are indeed contributing to solving such social problems by advancing technology and science of cellulose, the most abundant organic substance on earth.

A face-to-face international meeting, which has long been interrupted by the COVID-19, will be of great opportunity for the cellulose professionals seeking new concepts and networking across the borders.

Again, I am looking forward to an excellent meeting with great scientists from different countries around the world in Hiroshima 2023.

President of the Cellulose Society of Japan
Junji Sugiyama
